All that glitters is not gold in Diamond Sky – a haunting new British psychological thriller where love may be written in
the stars, but it comes at a price. Felix Mackenzie makes his directorial debut with this dark and hypnotic feature, that combines a heist movie with a fractured love story, that takes a twisted turn. The film made it UK debut on digital 27 October 2025, courtesy of Reel2Reel Films.

TV favourite Amanda Abbington (Sherlock, Mr Selfridge, The Lost King) stars as the realist mother of Alice (Elena Rivers – Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, F1), a young dreamer who desires a prince, but falls for a pauper and sees riches in his rags.

At the heart of Diamond Sky is Lucan (Hassan Najib – Blade Runner 2099, Dune: Part Two), a young man whose whirlwind romance with Alice starts off full of promise, of a life filled with fairytale perfection. She comes from privilege, the polar opposite of his difficult life, but together they dream of building a future, only for it to unravel under the weight of financial pressure. When their relationship ends, Lucan just can’t let go. What begins as a broken heart, soon collapses into a chilling descent into madness, where his fractured mind sees the couple transformed into glamorous jewel thieves, stealing their way towards the dream life that reality has denied them.

A love story, a heist thriller and a psychological portrait, Diamond Sky is a shiningly original new feature from a one-to-watch filmmaker, that explores the perilous
beauty of desire and the danger of fantasy becoming more seductive than life itself.
