The official trailer for Helloween, the chilling new horror film from Shogun Films and written and directed by Phil Claydon, has just been released, giving audiences their first horrifying glimpse at the nightmare to come and the first glances at Carl Cane (played by Ronan Summers)
Known for his sharp eye for horror-comedy (Lesbian Vampire Killers, The Rezort), Phil Claydon now dives headfirst into darker territory with Helloween which unleashes a terrifying new vision of the evil clown subgenre, promising a relentless mix of scares, tension, and shocking twists.
At the center of Helloween lurks Carl Cane himself—unnerving, sadistic, and unforgettable. With flashes of gruesome imagery, psychological dread, and hints at a larger mystery, Helloween is already being called one of the most anticipated indie horror releases of the year. and has been described as ‘The Purge with evil clowns’
Helloween also stars genre legend Michael Paré who perhaps best known for his roles in Streets of Fire, and The Philadelphia Experiement has been a cult genre favourite over the years. In Helloween Michael plays John Parker.,an investigative journalist who teams up with Dr Ellen Marks (played by genre favourite Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott) to try and get to the bottom of the mystery of the cultish uprising which is terrorising the streets of the United Kingdom. Helloween is set to hit a limited run of select US theaters in September just in time for spooky season and will be released digitally in the US from September 5th , and in the UK on Digital September 29th followed by a physical media launch on bluray from October 13th through Miracle Media, a branch of 101 Films..
Horror fans are already buzzing very quickly online after the trailer’s release, with early reactions praising the haunting visuals, the sinister performance of the film’s central villain, and Claydon’s return to the director’s chair.
