Get ready for Helloween. Yes we know its still August but its never too early to start prepping for your spooky viewing. Over at Indiewrap the news has been revealed that the latest film from Shogun Films is set to arrive this September. From Writer/Director Phil Claydon and starring Michael Paré (The Philadelphia Experiment, Streets of Fire), Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott (Knightfall, Nemesis) and Ronan Summers (Code of Silence, War Blade) Helloween tales the story of charismatic serial killer Carl Cane (played by Ronan Summers) and his attempt to use the 2016 ‘killer clown’ craze as a front for an anarchistic uprising. Only his Doctor, Ellen Marks (played by Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott) and investigative journalist John Parker (played by Michael Paré) can see what is happening and after Cane escapes and begins a new murderous rampage face a race against time to avoid an all-out bloodbath on Halloween.

The Indiewrap article also reveals the news that 101 Films had acquired the UK rights for Helloween but this is in fact Miracle Media who will be handling the UK release and will be releasing Helloween digitally and also (which is great news) on Blu Ray on September 29th. Vertical are handling the North American release and will be releasing the film day and date on digital and in select cinemas on September 5th. Sales have been concluded for Germany, Australia, Poland, Russia and Latin America as well with details to be announced soon. Great news that here in the UK Hellowene will be on bluray. Whilst digital is convenient for the most, physical media in our book will always be the better option. There is nothing like having a film on a shelf, there when you need it and to show off to visitors who pop around to the house for a tea or coffee ‘oh whats what bluray’ ‘that’s Helloween”

Helloween was produced by Jonathan Sothcott via rapidly growing British indie Shogun Films and Executive Producers include Chad Hagan, Beau King, Sandy Damm, Charley McDougal and Jamie Mcleod-Ross. Shogun is currently planning a grass roots marketing campaign for the picture – Michael Paré recently appeared at the ‘Mad Monster’ convention in Arizona promoting the picture and Cinexploits is publishing a glossy ‘making of’ book by Bill Cunningham in October, the second under their Shogun Books imprint.(the first being focused on the film Nemesis’

Jonathan Sothcott commented “with Helloween, Shogun has really hit the ground running as a producer of original, high quality commercial genre movies that have an audience all over the world. Expertly written and directed by Claydon and boasting superb performances from an ensemble cast, Helloween is exactly the kind of ambitious, unpretentious horror that viewers seek during spooky season and we can’t wait to unleash it.”

Other Shogun productions set for imminent release are spy thriller Knightfall, serial killer thriller Doctor Plague and horror Harbinger. Rapidly becoming recognised as a powerful player in the British film industry, the busy indie is currently in production on The Secret Of Guy Fawkes, described as a chilling mix of John Carpenter and Dan Brown while tuning up for action/horror Werewolf Hunt which is described as a mix of Dog Soldiers and Predator.
